Hi,
I would like to know if using VAMT in KMS environment is a common practice.
If yes, do most of the people run it on separate machine (like admin workstation) or on KMS server itself (if KMS is on dedicated machine)?
Thanks.

just to be sure...
as I know Office 2013 Pro KMS host can activate Office 2013, Visio and project...
Correct?

Hi guys,
is Windows 2008 (non R2) not supported for TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2? Even if adding it on the registry as enabled
I have read on some blogs it is not supported but not on any official MS website or anything.
Can you help me clarify this?
Thanks.

H All, I need some help.
This may not be the correct place for this but I'll give it a go!!
Physical machine with two physical processors, Xeon E5-2609v3 6-Core, so 12 Cores in total
if one was to install VMware ESXi and create two virtual machines using 50% of processors (6 CPU's) and all other resources, then install Microsoft server 2016 in each virtual machine.
bringing me to the question, what MS software/licencing do I need to purchase, with SKU's please?
Many thanks in advance.
I'm trying to get a better understanding of CAL's so forgive me if these questions are easy questions.
Currently we have external users (non-company) web-app users who connect remotely that authenticate through AD, my understanding is the following from: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/about-licensing/client-access-license.aspx
With a Device CAL, you purchase a CAL for every device that accesses your server, regardless of the number of users who use that device to access the server. Device CALs may make more economic and administrative sense if your company has workers who share devices, for example, on different work shifts.
With the User CAL, you purchase a CAL for every user who accesses the server to use services such as file storage or printing, regardless of the number of devices they use for that access. Purchasing a User CAL might make more sense if your company employees need to have roaming access to the corporate network using multiple devices, or from unknown devices, or simply have more devices than users in your organization.
I'm also under the understanding that since our external users auth through AD that a CAL is required, but what's not clear to me is if a device CAL is applicable to our enviorment, in the sense of does device CAL's cover external users.
So my question is this:
using a 'Device CAL' for a web application on a WebServer that authenticates through a 2008DC with external clients satisfy CAL requirements in this scenario?
I'm trying to disable the use of clipboard redirection for all but a few users. Enabling the "Do not allow clipboard redirection" works as far as disabling for all users, but I cannot seem to create the exceptions to allow those few users to continue being able to use RDP clipboard. I've denied the GPO from applying to those specific users and their PCs (it's a computer config setting) but even after gpupdate it still doesn't allow those users to use the clipboard even though I can see the policy was filtered out.
Any assistance creating the exclusions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello.
I use Windows Server 2008 R2 and when I apply a quota on specific folders then it can't show me a correct size. For example, I have 1TB free space but it show me I just have 2GB free space. I search in Internet and some people write good articles about it. For example, Remove quota and add it again and after it my problem solved but I want to know can I use other way for solve it? I mean is that never remove Quota and apply it again.
How about "https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc742101.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396" ?
Thank you.
Hi Experts,
I have a very particular issue I want to shed some light on.
Whenever I go to the following web page:
and try to download the Windows 2016 Trial for testing, it gives me the following error:

|
|

I have tried my main Hotmail account to sign in and a secondary one but the error persists.
I have tried different hotspots and different locations but the problem persists. Is it a Microsoft backend issue?
All the suggestions on other forums don't seem to help.
Please help.
Hi all,
I've a file server Windows 2008 (not R2) with Service Pack 2, 32 bit. I've a shared directory this directory is the target of a remote FTP server. In this directory I've some files (that a user has put in via FTP) but if I try to view their NTFS settings I get:
"the requested security information is either unavailable or cannot be displayed"
????
Hi ,
can someone kindly answer , if i can do an in place upgrade from Server 2008R2 to Server 2016?
Thanks.
Las weekend we updated the server(Windows Server 2008R2), and monday when we we're trying to deploy an image, we found that we couldn't. We tried with a few more computers and they all say the same, "PXE32: TFTP open timeout". After a bit of research we found a couple solutions but none of them worked. Also, the DHCP is giving IPs properly, and the DNS is not on the same server as WDS so it's not related to this(Most posts were about that). The WDS server is accesible, if i ping it or connect to remote desktop Works fine, it's just when deploying images.
What we've tried so far is:
Change the registry key "UdpPortPolicy" to 0.
Check 066 Next Server on DHCP.
And a couple of service restarts.
None of the above worked. Any idea?(If possible I'd like to avoid any reinstallation of the WDS role)
Regards!
