Continous wake up issue with Server 2008 R2 Foundation.

We have be deploying Server 2008 R2 since October 2009, where the servers are "hibernated" during the day (and weekends) and in the evening either wake up via a scheduled task (or wake on LAN), do their job and when finshed usually during middle of night re-hibernate. Been working fine like this since October 2009. Server 2008 R2 handles the power control fine.

However we have started to deploy Server 2008 R2 Foundation as well (and instead) and are having issues getting Server 2008 R2 Foundation to stay hibernated.

It appears the Server 2008 R2 Foundation server continually wakes up 1/2 an hour after it has been hibernated, which means it spends its day just power cycling. Wakes up, finds nothing to do goes back to hibernate.

The output of POWERCFG -WAKETIMERS gives:

Timer set by [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume2 Windows\System32\silsvc.exe (silsvc) expires at 16:34:40 on 19/05/2011.

I assume it is this service continually waking the server. This wake timer task is not present on Server 2008 R2 (standard) systems.

So far I have been unable to stop this scheduled task or find any work around to stop the server waking after it has hibernated. It is not spurious wake on LAN as even does it with networking cards removed/disabled.

Anyone got any ideas how to stop Server 2008 R2 Foundation continually coming out of hibernate ?

Also has implications for me at home as I have a nice HP Microserver supplied with Server 2008 Foundation that I do not wish to have running @ 50Watts for 24/7 considering it may only get accessed in evenings and weekends, but I am unable to keep it hibernated (at 6Watts consumption) as it just wakes up again 1/2 hour later. Might have to return the S/W and switch to Ubunto Server at that does at least stay off once hibernated .
